Artist’s Statement

Inspiration
This Work was created to display in St Maximin Church in St Maximin Church in Sainte Baume, France where St Mary Magdalene's Relics are kept during the week of her Feast day. It is and Icon painted in Baroque style depicting her holding oil for the anointing of Christ's body and a Red Egg from a pious tradition in which Mary has an audience with Emperor Tiberius in which an Egg miraculously turned blood red as a proof of the resurrection. This ancient Pious tradition is where we get the modern "Easter Egg" tradition of today.

Message
I want to draw people into relationship with Christ and to elevate the worship of God by the faithful through beauty.
